[CFM] installer downloads & runs all the way to the end, then crashes "error -299" - tried twice

I tried to download & install 1.0.2 from the Mozilla website on two occasions,
both ran through the entire lengthy downloading / installing process right to the
end, when the computer crashed with a "error -299" message. Installation was
unsuccessful. I am running Mac OS 8.6 on a 266mhz G3.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Downloaded 1.0.2 for Mac OS 8-9 from Mozilla website

Error -299, computer froze, installation unsuccessful.
Expected Results:
Installed correctly...
I am running OS 8.6 on a 266mhz G3 PowerPC Mac.

crashes or quits? If it simply quits, it's doing what it should cause you're
running out of memory.
-299 means OUT_OF_MEMORY:

try not having anything running when installing mozilla (including nonessential
extensions loaded).
sorry to inform that even if it was a bug, OS8 is a non-supported platform these
days:

CFM builds are no more. wontfix.
