http://developers.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=57533&threshold=-1&pid=5538539 The following two URL's (the second is a more granular set of comments) crash Moz 1.3 final(gtk2), Linux. Box is RH8, using Moz.org RH8 GTK2 rpm's. I haven't been able to narrow the problem down below the three or four comments in the above link.

Worksforme with a trunk linux build (2003-03-13-08). gtk2/xft issue?
Shouldn't the version be changed from "trunk" to "other branch"? Btw, works for me on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030317.

Also WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 (Windows). I can still reproduce this from Linux, however. Let me know if there's something I can provide to help hunt down the issue - Is there a way to get Talkback to work under Linux?

NEver mind, I fixed the issue. a trace of the running mozilla turned up the following: read(5, "\1\1v+\0\0\0\0[\276\214\0\5\0\207\0\0\0\0\0p\210W\f\0\0"..., 32) = 32 open("/usr/share/fonts/ja/TrueType/kochi-gothic.ttf", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) --- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) --- unlink("/home/ksnider/.mozilla/default/wmlzkcxy.slt/lock") = 0 _exit(11) Turns out Red Hat had a Japanese font registered that wasn't actually on the system. Installing ttfonts-ja corrected the issue for me.
