No errors displayed, even in a shell window.  The mozilla icon stops rotating
for a couple of seconds, and then the browser window disappears.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. RH 8.0 with all patches, JRE 1.4.1, Mozilla 1.3 from RPMs installed 
2. Open mozilla, and enter www.pricegrabber.com into the address line
3. Browser freezes before page begins rendering.

Actual Results:  
Mozilla crashed.

Expected Results:  
Loaded the page.  

This problem does not occur with 1.3b using the exact same profile (1.3b was
installed from tar.gz in /usr/local/bin).  I created a new profile with 1.3, and
the same behavior resulted.

Isn't there a compatibility problem between 1.3 rpms (gcc 3.x build) and JRE
1.4.1 ? I think I remember I saw a bug on this issue.

RE: JRE 1.4.1 - IN 1.3b, the pricegrabber.com doesn't launch the JRE, so
wouldn't think that's a problem.

I have not tried the tar install... but I will...

Ok.  This morning, the problem with pricegrabber.com disappeared.  I think I
have it tracked to a problem with the flash plugin.  I'm guessing one of their
banner-ads from yesterday may have been causing the problem.  I went to another
flash site, and it crashed as well.  I installed version 6.0r79 of the flash
plugin, and it seems much better.

As for Java, it's not the version that's in question, it's the compiler.  The
RH8 RPM version was built with GCC 3.2, and so must your Java compiler, else it
won't even show up in the about:plugins.  Release notes pointed me to a
blackdown.org version, and after installing their 1.4.1_01 version instead of
Sun's version, it seems to be good.  

I did also try the tar.gz install, and it had a different shockwave problem (no
crash), and it saw the sun JRE, where the RPM install didn't.  I'm assuming it
wasn't built on gcc 3.2 so it didn't suffer the same problem(s).

All sites are ok so far.

If anyone else if having problems with the RPM install for RH8, update the flash
plugin and get blackdown.org's java 1.4.1 from
http://www.blackdown.org/java-linux/mirrors.html.

I think this needs RES. FIXED. now. No problem on Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux
i686; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031230 (GTK2 homebrew)

According to the comments, and my testing it appears to work just fine.  Site
loads VERY quick and is repsonsive.
