Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030319 Debian/1.3-3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030319 Debian/1.3-3

Since I installed Java Plugin 1.4.1 I can't do homebanking anymore at the
kreissparkasse.
I can not log into the homebanking applet. You can test the applet with the
testaccount given at the url above.
When downgrading to Java Plugin 1.3.x it works again.
But I doubt that it is a Java bug because I can use this homebanking applet with
Opera and the Java Suite 1.4.1.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.load the url given above
2. try to log in with Mozilla and JavaPlugin > 1.4.1
3.

Actual Results:
No login possible. An errormessage pops up.

Expected Results:
Allow me to do homebanking ;-)

For me homebanking is very important. Since I use debian 3.0 unstable I cannot
downgrade my Java version anymore. Only Java 1.4.1 works (I guess it is a gcc
3.2 issue). So I cannot do homebanking with mozilla anymore. and i don't like
opera very much.

I don't get an error on the Java console. Do you get one?

Here is my output from the Java Console:

Opening start_online_3xx.html

BAuthent 2.0.0 1999-05-17 08.28.19

Markus, are you still experiencing this? I tried the page using sun java 1.4.1
without seeing any obvious problems (though of course I don't have an account
and can't read german). My java console shows:

--IHB-- detecting platform ... V1.7
Betriebssystem: SunOS
Java Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
Java Version: 1.4.1_01
Opening start_online_3xx.html

Hi Kenneth,

I'm still having this problem. You don't need an account to see the problem.
Just type two numbers in the fields.
fe. 12345 / 12345

There will pop up a window with a german error message, which you can ignore,
because it is a dumy text. With Java 1.3.1 it runs perfectly al right.

I get that german "error message," using a properly-installed Java 1.4.2_01
plugin (that works on other sites) on Firebird 0.7.

Google says the error message translates to:

"at present not to be manufactured. Please you try it again at a later time.
If you had sent a business transaction, this was not accomplished."

Is this the problem you were seeing? If it is I can confirm the bug.

Yes. That ist the error message. Login still not possible with even the newest
mozilla. With opera no problem, so it is definitly not a jdk problem.

With my Java Console, I get:

--IHB-- detecting platform ... V2.0

>ib100.StartUp< loaded.

I suspect that this could be related to bug 100373.

Also, severity is normal, IMO, unless this is a major banking application.

Tested on Windows & Linux, I found after "BAuthent: No authentication used",
there will be a line "USING IDEA as Cipherspec" on Windows, but not on Linux.
This could be the cause of this bug.

Markus, did you see "USING IDEA as Cipherspec" in Java Console when using Opera?

When I tried another internet banking site
https://homebanking.dvg-ka.de/055/index.html on Linux, I was able to see the
"USING IDEA as Cipherspec". So I suspect this is the applet's bug.

What I don't understand is, why the applet works with Opera on a Linux Box, but
doesn't with Mozilla?

Comment 11

I'm also confused with that. Which version of opera are you using? I tried Opera
7.23 on SuSE 8.1, the login applet wasn't showed up at all. And can you dump the
output from Java Console when it works?

The homebanking applet works here on debian unstable with Opera 7.23. Here is

Mass-closing bugs in the "OJI" component: OJI plugin integration was replaced with npruntime long ago, and these bugs appear to be irrelevant now. If there is in fact a real bug that remains, please file it new in the "Core" product, component "Plug-ins".
