Desine.net's Internet history pages at http://www.desine.net/resume/portfolio/history/ carry a misleading message stating that IE 5.x and higher are the only web browsers that conform well to W3C guidelines. This has been untrue since at least the release of Mozilla 1.0. This site was built using HTML, Javascript and CSS specifications that work best in Internet Explorer 5 or above. If you use any other browser, this site will not work as intended, as other browsers do not fully support the HTML 4 specifications as set forth the World Wide Web consortium [w3.org]. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Mozilla 1.3 on Windows 2000. 2. Go to http://www.desine.net/resume/portfolio/history/ 3. Click 'enter'. Actual result: A warning page with misleading title "IE Only" appears, but the site lets me in anyway without any spoofing and works fine. Expected result: No IE-only message. I guessed the component based on the TLD.
This is not a bug of Mozilla's. It's the site that says IE is the only browser supporting w3c standards. Please contact the website administrator and ask him to correct the message. Marking INVALID.

I guess I'm confused as to the purpose of the "Tech Evangelism" component. I thought "Tech Evangelism" was all about contacting web site administrators and getting them to fix IE-only sites. From http://www.mozilla.org/projects/tech-evangelism/site/ : Members of the Mozilla Technology Evangelism community ... locate contact information for the site or product's authors I posted the bug here instead of writing in desine.net's web form because I couldn't easily find a contact method (e-mail, web form, IM, etc) for that particular part of the site. I was afraid to use the form for all of desine.net because I wasn't sure it was the right form, and I didn't want to be accused of wasting somebody's time and violating etiquette by using the wrong form. Others working in Bugzilla have proven better than I am at finding such contact methods. What misconception do I have?
The same message is served in IE6. That site has bigger problems than not supporting Mozilla.
