Re-assigning to Ed Burns so he can investigate, or get help from Leila Garin to
investigate. Perhaps this is just a setting in the Java Plug-In? Perhaps going
into the Java Plug-In's preferences and telling it to turn off the Java Console
would do the trick?

Using 11/19/99 Mozilla build and jdk1.3 build "O" on WinNT.

Verified that setting the Java Plug-in not to show the Java Console
causes the Java Console not to come up when Mozilla is started.

To do the setting,
- Bring up the Java Plug-in control panel.
- Unchecked the "Show Java Console" check box.
- Run Mozilla. This time the console will not come at start up.

Unchecked the 'Show Java Console' box and ran mozilla. The Java console screen
did not come up.
I did nothing to the Java Plug-in prior to running this build-is this check a
default setting?

Same with me. I believe the Show Java Console is checked by default.
I'm adding Robert Yang to CC for confirmation.

I don't suppose Mozilla (which has its own Show Java Console)
can override the plug-in Show Java Console setting?
The plug-in setting should only apply to inferior browsers.
