If e-mail has many attachments and user selects 'save all' the attachments are
saved to disk. Saving of every attachment seems to require full download of the
message (together with attachments), instead of making one full download and
extracting attachments from this one download. Have not tested this with POP3 as
we use IMAP.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Locatate an e-mail with BIG and many attachments.
2. Select File-Attachments-Save all.
3. See the progress indicator starting (and completing) N times.
Actual Results:  
Downloading whole message N times.

Expected Results:  
Downloading whole message 1 time.

Yes, Mozilla is doing this with news, too.

Probably related: bug 46233, bug 181842 and bug 93208, which is supposed to be
fixed...

I confirm this on 1.2.1 (Win XP) Gecko/20021130, using IMAP. If you have a
message with a lot of attachments and you select "save all" on them, the
download time increases for every attachment: the first is fastest, the last is
the slowest. It seems that Mozilla is downloading the whole message every time,
until the relevant attachment is found. Try it with a lot of attachments: it
becomes VERY slow.
Mozilla should download the email just once, and then save all the attachments.
Not on a one-by-one basis.

I can confirm this bug still exists with 1.3 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT
5.0; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312. And I agree it is very annoying and I would
think it would be easy to fix. It ALSO happens when saving one by one. Even
thought the message has already been downloaded, it downlads again for each save-as.

A fix for bug 46233 is in place on 1.7a builds (and I think will be in 1.4.2 as 
well).  Someone who's seen this symptom, please report on whether that fix 
addressed this bug as well.
