User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686) Gecko/20030313 Galeon/1.3.3

I cannot set certain preferences, such as those at http://www.cbc.ca.

When trying to set preferences, confirmation will appear without error. However,
the site will continue to act as if I had not set the preferences.

The cookies are plainly visible in the cookie viewer.

This problem appeared in 1.3b, as well. The problem appears when using Galeon or
Mozilla.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open http://www.cbc.ca
2. Scroll to the bottom of the center column, and click 'Personalize Your Location'
3. Select a new location for weather or news.
4. Click the appropriate 'Set' button.
5. A popup will appear infomring you that your location has been set.

Actual Results:
Viewing the main page, even after reloading as suggested, will result in the
local news/weather being chosen randomly, as if location had not been set.

Expected Results:
The site should have remembered my location.

When using Galeon's tabbed browsing to force the confirmation dialog to appear
in a tab, an interesting anaomaly shows itself: The confirmaion dialog never
actually finishes loading. It's title is drawn in red, which signifies that it
hasn't finished, and the text 'Transferring data from site...' appears in the
status bar.

As far as I can tell, it does not time out, and continues in this unfinished
state until you click one of the buttons or close the tab. I have left it for as
long as ten minutes, far longer than the usual network timeouts.
reporter: any chance you could try to reproduce on a current trunk? we've had a
lot of cookie work go in during this period, so results on a current trunk would
be much more useful.

thanks!
I don't see this bug in Firebird 0.6 on either Windows or Linux.
cbc.ca remembers my personal settings

About info:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030516 Mozilla Firebird/0.6

I don't have the about info for my windows version but I think it is either 0.6
or a more recent nightly.
reporter: this bug is a couple months old now - are you still seeing this in a
1.4-based Mozilla/Galeon?
no response from reporter in over one year, resolving WORKSFORME, please reopen
if this can be replicated on a current build.
