User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 Symantec recently upgraded their enterprise support pages to a new format which has problems with Mozilla. Category headers should be on yellow backgrounds, JavaScript version of pages do not work (JS detection fails, redirects to non-JS version of pages). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) Go to http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/enterprise/ and compare page to IE. 2) Click on Knowledge Base. Note the redirection. Compare to IE. Actual Results: The main URL listed on this bug does not render properly in Mozilla (compare to IE, where section headers are on a yellow background). Upon clicking on Knowledge Base, you are taken to http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/enterprise/select_product_kb.html which tries to detect JavaScript, fails, then redirects you to http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/enterprise/select_product_kb_nojs.html (which also doesn't render the yellow category headers). The "JavaScript" version of the page has expanding category trees (use IE for reference). Expected Results: Matched IE's output (if it is standards-compliant code) Probably Tech Evangelism issue, but deferring to code gurus to verify.
<noscript><meta HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="3;URL=/techsupp/enterprise/select_product_kb_nojs.html"></noscript> <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.2" SRC="/techsupp/enterprise/javascript/list.js"></SCRIPT> <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- function init() { if((parseInt(navigator.appVersion) < 4) || (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) > 4 && (navigator.appName == "Netscape")) || ((navigator.appName == "Mozilla"))){ document.location = "/techsupp/enterprise/select_product_kb_nojs.html";

please check if this problem still exists, because we want to get rid of unconfirmed bugs. Many bugs in here are strill unconfirmed, because eigher nobody sees the problem or nobody is able to get to the page because of a required login. (sorry for the spam)
Checking w/ Moz 1.4b: Issues are half-solved. The "Category headers should be on yellow backgrounds" problem appears solved, however you are still redirected to a non-Javascript version of the page for some reason (see original reproduction steps for details), loosing the nice expandable-categories feature of the page you'd otherwise get in IE. Might be worth keeping open, because if Symantec used standards-based code for their expandable categories it'd work on either browser. The way it is now, non-IE users get short-changed and get pages that loose some nice functionality.
with this summary it's ok
