Details

The help content currently has the following problems:

1. Content is out of date.
2. Links in index and table of contents don't work.
3. Links in the content don't work.
4. Still tons of references to AOL/Netscape/My Sidebar.
5. Images don't correspond to Mozilla.

As a company who takes Mozilla and turns it into a product, having bad help is
MUCH worse than having no help at all. If a company is going to create a product
based on Mozilla, they will probably write their own help.

In addition, the hardcoded Mozilla references throughout the help make it very
difficult to reuse the Mozilla help anyway.

For this reason, I believe the help should be removed.

We should leave it up to embeddors to create help.

Alternatively, we could invent methods to make the help better, but as long as
the process is "Netscape writes help, Netscape drops help to replace existing
help", this won't work.

What we need is for Netscape has to start with the Mozilla help and work from
there. We would create methods to auto substitute text or not display text, as
well as convert the content to XHTML to allow brand substitution.
Many people other than Netscape staff are involved in documentation effort, you
know.
