20050 - M11 can't handle bugzilla front page

as of Wed Nov 24 14:34:00 EST 1999, i can't enter this bug report from mozilla,
because M11 (Build ID: 19999111520) on NT and Solaris can't follow any of the
links on left side of the bugzilla homepage.

There is a javascript link to "Show Mozilla bug no." and it has overflowed to
consume all of the links on the left side of the page (above the ant), which
include the "Enter a new bug report" link.

I can see the page without difficulty in NN 4.5.

Gagan?  Does this look anything like the script-fragment parsing issue we talked
about recently?  Rick?  Could this be related to 19337?

I'd like to give it away; it doesn't look like a JavaScript engine bug.

It's not a JavaScript bug. It's an HTML bug, and it's my fault. I incorrectly
nested HTML tags in the new page, which stuffed the links. (I rand it through an
HTML validator, but the validator doesn't check HTML tags hidden in JavaScript,
you see.)

I noted this in bug 16546 -- there's a fixed version attached to that bug,
waiting to be checked in. CCing endico and terry, because they were the ones
involved in getting the new page up in the first place.

Apologies for the inconvenience, but I've now supplied the fix and it's up to
terry and co. to put it up ASAP.

I removed the misplaced <strong> </strong> tags that were confusing mozilla.
The fix worked for me with my nov12 build. Marking fixed.

works fine in m18, i dont know anyoe who has touched m11 in the past 3 months so
i will verify this bug to get rid of it from the resolved-but-yet-to-verified list.
