i am the postmaster at Kutztown University. i receive a large amount for the
postmaster account. most of the mail is undeliverables, so i automatically
filter them into my trash folder. every so often, the trash folder will
disappear from the client program, which forces messages to be delivered into my
inbox. also, once the trash folder disappears, i cannot delete any mail in the
account. this account is a pop account.

I received the following error message when the trash folder disappears:
"The folder 'Trash' could not be found, so filter(s) associated with this folder
will be disabled. Verify that the folder exists, and that filters point to a
valid destination folder"

On Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031110
MultiZilla/1.5.0.3o
The Trash folder is deleted on POP accounts when the Empty Trash is selected
from the File->Empty Trash
The Trash folder is actually deleted from the drive.
The Trash folder is recreated when other email is deleted or Mozilla is started
again. When other email is deleted, the Trash folder does not appear in the list
of folders for the account unless the account is collapsed and expanded.
This happens without MultiZilla and with no plugins.

I see this also in Thunderbird 1.0.2. Right clicking on the Trash folder,
selecting empty trash, it will sometimes disappear. You can always close
Thunderbird and reopen and it's back.
Only started happening fairly recently, but I'm on an official build - maybe
within the last two weeks?

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
