chloe's patch in bug 2001453 seems to cover some of the new layout already, so double check what is missing or this bug could be marked dupe

partially. i found that Chloe's patch has a bug for pref setting so this patch has a fix for it. I could just submit this as it is and in bug 2010599 patch will cover the kill switcher and new badge based on most recent design
