add UI to addressbook card dialog to allow the user to pick a url (file, or
http) for people buddy icons.
it would have to save the icon into the right place, with the right name.
see http://www.mozilla.org/mailnews/arch/buddyicons.html
<profile home>/NIM/<value of pref aim.session.screenname>/picture/<screenname
for card>.gif
(note, gif is not necessary, any image type should work.)
note that the size of the image that is used in NIM is restricted to 7168 bytes.

I had been considering adding a bug for ability to change the file-place format of
<profile home>/NIM/<value of pref aim.session.screenname>/picture/<screenname
for card>.gif to something that is USER-DEFINED in prefs.js somewhere
... but if you allow me to choose a file via a URL or a local file that would
give me even more control ... BONUS!
I will contain my comments to this bug and not open any new bugs regarding this
features.

If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way.
If you can confirm that the report doesn't apply to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it to the appropriate RESOLVED state (WORKSFORME, INVALID, WONTFIX, or similar).
If no action happens within the next few months, we move this bug report to an EXPIRED state.
