User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030401 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030401 I view a PDF using Adobe Acrobat, and then I can't access any of Mozilla's functionality from the keyboard. This stays until I use the mouse to click on a menu or the search edit box. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a page with a PDF (e.g. http://web.onetel.net.uk/~anthony_w/cplusplus/intrototemplates.pdf) 2. try hitting F9, Alt+F and such 3. click in an empty place in Mozilla (next to the tabs, next to the personal toolbar, etc.) and try again 4. click on a Moz menu and try again Actual Results: up to step 4 the keys go to Acrobat, not Mozilla Expected Results: step 3 should have released the keyboard to Mozilla, and maybe some special shortcut should have switched keyboard focus to Mozilla as well (?)
Reproducible. It appears that any .pdf file loaded into a browser window, will take focus away from the browser. Acrobat Reader has it's own set of keyboard shortcuts. I have found the following after loading a .pdf file within the browser: - The .pdf file takes focus away from Mozilla - Mozilla keyboard shortcuts and context menus are enabled after user clicks in Mozilla's URL Location field. - If .pdf is in focus, and user then clicks in the empty space within the Acrobat specific toolbar, Mozilla context menus are accessible via Alt key, but Function keys (F9, etc) and Ctrl+ keys are not enabled. I'm researching this to find out if an Acrobat toggle key exists for users to alternate focus between Mozilla and Acrobat Reader.

Ever confirmed: true
"I'm researching this to find out if an Acrobat toggle key exists for users to alternate focus between Mozilla and Acrobat Reader." No ... There is some special focus code in our netscape plug-in for accessibility. It sounds like it is messing things up. I will ask our QE to investigate and enter a bug against Acrobat if that is the case. Unfortunately, the fix probably won't make Acrobat 6.0 (announced today), but I will fix any issue for whatever dot release follows.
