I'm seeing this bug with linux trunk 20030408 If your build triggers the upgrade nagging on the start page, and the download button image is not cached, the placeholder for the download button is placed a bit too far to the right (left side of the placeholder is where the right side of the image should be). When the actual image is retrieved, it is displayed in the correct position. However, part of the original placeholder is not removed (the part outside the image's padding). Moving a window over the area forces it to redraw and the placeholder is gone. This problem only occurs in standards mode. In quirks mode, the placeholder is drawn with the right side where the image's right side ends up. testcase and screenshot to follow.
URL worksforme with linux trunk/CVS, but the testcase still exhibits the bug.

Andrew, are you still seeing this with current builds?
Created attachment 131376 [details] more reproducible testcase this testcase refers to an invalid image and should be more reproducible over broadband. the testcase exhibits the bug with linux trunk 2003091105
Attachment #119921 - Attachment is obsolete: true
If this bug were still present, it might have been fixed by bug 409870. However, I don't see it in a build before that patch.
