We need something that can provide download stats for nightly and milestone
builds. We've got scripts that make the ftp logs useful but we don't run them
regularly or chart the data.

actually, we have a download-stats thing which pulls data from the ftp mirror logs of the primary mirrors.  It's a bit incomplete these days, but it's there.

Is this still wanted now (in 2008) with all our other tools? This bug was filed back in 2003.

All the other tools only track things that are handled through bouncer.  This bug is specifically asking to be able to track nightlies and so forth.  It'd also be handy to track releases that aren't in bouncer (such as the Bugzilla stuff in particular -- right now I'm grepping logs by hand when we want stats on Bugzilla downloads)

I think this functionality has been replaced with what metrics.mozilla.com can provide.  If I'm wrong and this is actually still wanted, re-open.
