spam filter degrades, according to brendan <sspitzer> so junk mail has just stopped working for you? does it work at all? <brendan> it works <brendan> i seem to have to retrain it, since the upgrade to last friday's build <brendan> asian spam, some stuff i'm pretty sure it was trained to junk, is now showing up <brendan> not marked junk at all <brendan> any known bugs with upgrading? <sspitzer> hmm. when you say retrain it, you mean, on a few emails (like the asian spam?) or completely retrain it. <sspitzer> I'm not aware of any, the format has changed. <brendan> dunno yet <sspitzer> er, hasn't changed. <brendan> it could be that new spam evades the training, and there's no bug <brendan> but i think i've seen some non-asian stuff that i didn't used to see <brendan> recurrent stuff
Dupe of bug 200087?
Well well, serious: I lately upgraded from Mozilla 1.3.1 to 1.4 and had to retrain the SPAM function (it didn't recognize spam as it did before). --> Aren't these learned settings saved in my profile??? If no, this should be done that way!!
The spam-filter has worked flawlessly, for approximately four weeks or so, and now it has suddenly just stopped working! I receive about 30-40 spam-mails per day, and now, none of these are filtered out, and put in Trash, as the used to be. I have tried almost everything, disabling/enabling Junk Mail Controls, marking spam as “Junk”, running Junk Mail Controls on my Inbox (nothing happens actually, a bit of CPU load, all the same spam-mail are still in my Inbox). The only “solution” I have come up with until now, is to manually delete the spam… I’ve had similar problems with 1.4, 1.3 as well. I am using Windows XP and Mozilla 1.5 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007)
