Even though the cookies is set to expire in one year after each visit mozilla is
deleting the cookie. this was not happening with version 1.3b or 1.3a just with 1.4

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.login
2.leave site
3.re-enter and will have to login

Actual Results:
same thing

Expected Results:
stored the cookie until it's expiration
does it happen with latest nightly build ?
could be bug 198829.

otoh, i can't think what to dupe to.

reporter: can you try a recent nightly build?

if that's inconvenient, or you still see the problem, please generate a cookie
log (instructions for win32 can be found at
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=193951#c1, same idea applies to linux).

thanks!
oh, just to confirm - the cookie has a 1 year expiry time (when you view it in
the cookie manager), right?
Corect it has a one year expiration date when viewed in the cookie manager.

I have not tried it with the latest build, but will today.
Still having the same problem with even last nights build.
thanks for checking that.

can you please generate a cookie log for the site? instructions for win32 (same
idea for linux) can be found at
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=193951#c1. if you can reproduce the
problem and capture it in the log that'd be great.
So, I ran into this bug with a client site today, and decided to poke around a
bit more. We enabled cookie logging. It is a 1.4RC1 build, running on i386
Linux, yada yada. At any rate, our problem was similar to the one described,
except it was a ten year cookie. Here's the kicker.

When we turned on cookie logging, the problem went away. No shit. Just to make
sure, we turned /off/ cookie logging, and tried it again. The problem
re-appeared. I can attach the cookie log if necessary, but it, as one would
expect, is perfectly normal.

I'm going to try this with the most recent nightly, will post results shortly.
heh, forgive me for laughing, but that's funny! ;)

this one sounds interesting. fire off some more details when you get the chance.
I take it you're using downloaded builds... do you have a URL or is this internal?

I'll skim over the logging code and see if there's anything amiss there when I
get the chance.
everytime I try to creat a cookie log in linux or window they are blank nothing
to attach or look at.
let me repeat not having this problem with version 1.3 just everything after.
are you sure you're setting the env vars properly?
Yes - actually did it three times and each time nothing was showing in the
cookie log.
Attached file cookie log
Here is a copy of the cookie log.
it was deleting the log each time I would close mozilla. that's why they were
blank.

just to let you know before you ask.
Is this bug still an issue in recent builds?
reporter, please try changing your cookie pref from "allow cookies from
originating website only" to "accept all" and retest, using a more recent
release if possible.

I haven't run into a problem with this bug for almost a year. I believe it was
resolved in a nightly some time last summer.
-> wfm. if you see this problem again, please reopen.
