Could it be the Mozilla Spellchecker? I downloaded today's version, and when it was installed, it crashed when sending, which is when the spell checker is invoked. How does one uininstall a component?
uninstall, delete the whole directory execpt the plugins subfolder and reinstall mozilla.
I did that. It still crashed. That is why I reopened it. I reverted to the 4-17 build which does not crash.
I see the same thing with the 4 May 03 nightly build on Win2k. Sending email results in the Mozilla crashing. Doesn't matter which SMTP server I use or whether I have the SSL and authentication options on or off. I can compose a message, but the moment I hit send, Mozilla dies.
I am pretty sure the problem was the spell checker. I am running the 5/2 nightly build and downloaded the spell checker for the nightly builds (not 1.4a) and it seems to work. Do you have the spell checker? That is what gets launched when you hit the send button.
Reporter: I think this has been fixed in recent builds, can you take a look if this bug still happens there?
It has been fine for a while, so I am marking it works for me
