After installing some Extensions, I get this dialog popping up instead of the
one that comes with the default install. I can't pick files, move, nothing! in
the dialog. I can't even close it. So I have to go to the Task List and kill it
that way. (I'm on Windows NT.) Can anyone tell me what this dialog is and how to
prevent it from coming up. Whenever I re-install (ok, unzip) Firebird, it goes
away, so I'm assuming that it's just some options I can set in about:config.
When I overwrote compreg.dat in the components folder with the one that came in
the zip file, it fixed it. Then I reversed it and the problem came back. So, the
problem must be with compreg.dat

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install an unknown number of extentions
2. Goto any url (http://www.mozilla.org/start/ works) and right click on an image
3. Select Save Image As...
Actual Results:
I get an unusual download box that does not respond to anything but clicking the
top right combo box, and even that is empty. Please goto
http://www.mozillazine.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10061 for an image of this
dialog box.
Expected Results:
Either bring up the standard dialog (the one I get when I first install
Firebird) or have this new dialog work.
I wanted to include the two versions of the compreg.dat files that would and
would not cause this bug. But it's too big for the bug report. If want more
info, like the 2 files, email me.

That is the Moz file-picker used in Linux that you're seeing, more-or-less, so
there is nothing "Non-standard" about it. In fact, that *is* the dialog that
comes with the default install of Moz/FB. Windows versions of Moz however use
the filepicker that comes with Windows, as do most programs written for Windows.
The question is why you are getting it in Windows, and possibly, why it is not
working correctly. Do you recall which extensions you've installed?
As to the files themselves, I suspect the culprit is the following line in your
first attachment under [COMPONENTS]:
rel:nsFilePicker.js,1047802630000
I know it says not to edit the file, but go ahead anyway and see what happens.
Summary: Non-standard download dialog "breaks" Firebird → Non-working Linux filepicker showing up in Windows "breaks" Firebird
This bug is WFM as I can't follow the step 1 on comment #0.
