OK, for people like me who don't always notice bustage and/or don't exactly know
what OJI is, could you provide a bit more info on what is broken? The main
reason I ask is that I haven't noticed any plug-in problems...

I assume you are talking about Java in Mozilla right. If you are using the Sun
Java plugin, bad luck, you will need a MSVC build for that.

However, you can use something other than the Sun Java plugin. Kaffe (kaffe.org)
is one that could be compiled in Cygwin/MingW. However, I can't find any mention
of a OJI plugin there.

Reporter: please explain a little more.

The Kaffe virtual machine used to be the recommended java solution under Linux
in the absence of a Sun provided JVM compiled with GCC 3.
So there's no question OJI (Open JVM Integration) is supported by Kaffe.

The Windows version is little tested, so there certainly are problems and this
bug could be used this has a META bug to follow them, but more info on specific
problems is required.

I change the component to Java/OJI, if something goes wrong it's not in the
generic plug-in support, but specifically in OJI.

Jonathan, please justify your opening this bug as new by giving specific info
about what is broken.

Mass-closing bugs in the "OJI" component: OJI plugin integration was replaced with npruntime long ago, and these bugs appear to be irrelevant now. If there is in fact a real bug that remains, please file it new in the "Core" product, component "Plug-ins".
