User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030401 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030401 Attempted to download a driver for a Soundblaster Audio PCI 128 for Windows 98 from the support url above. When I selected the "DOWNLOAD" button, the screen filled with garbage. When I tried the same thing from IE, the download manager came up with "Save to file" messages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Same as above 2. 3. Actual Results: Same as above Expected Results: Should have provided ability to download file.
There were 8 files listed under "Driver." It appears most of them aren't drivers, but MIDI patch sets. The patch sets have extension .ecw and are sent as text/plain. The actual drivers have extension .exe and properly trigger a "Save As" dialogue. Server misconfigured?
I came across this a few days ago. The server is indeed misconfigured (I had to use forcecontenttype when downloading Vibra 128 drivers as they were being served as text/plain). As far as I know, the actual driver files are on europe.creative.com, but linked from both asia.creative.com and america.creative.com. -> Tech Evang
