just disappeared once I clicked on the link to take me to a password- protected site. Here is the gdb text: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x400c2931 in nsCRT::strlen () (gdb) l rtld.c:1: No such file or directory. Unfortunately, the URL's are internal here and protected by a firewall.
What is the date of the tree you're using? Could you give a stack trace? (Type "bt" in gdb.) (Even then, it may not be possible to figure out what happened without access to the URL.)

This works fine for me (RH6.0 Linux, build 1999-12-29) when I type in the url to a PHP HTTP-AUTH page.
