The popup menu's background became transparent if the browser setting of using
my chosen colors is set.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. goto preferences and set the appears of colors to using my chosen colores.

Actual Results:  
The popup menu become transparent, result in difficult to read entries.

Expected Results:  
the background should be set accordingly.
This is not a JavaScript Engine issue. Reassigning to Browser-General
for more exposure. Confirming report using Mozilla trunk 2003051508.
If I go to 

           Edit > Preferences > Appearance > Colors

and select "Use my chosen colors", the backgrounds of the submenus
seem to become transparent. However, is this really a bug? For example,
I chose "red" for background color. I am therefore saying, "Ignore the
colors the webpage chooses, I want all my backgrounds to be red".

So - when I reload the page, it's red. And when I mouseover the menu
the submenus pop up, and their backgrounds are red, too. So they
look as if they are transparent, but that's just because I forced
them to have the same color as the main page - right?

The transparent effect makes the web page content under it to be overlap with
the menu entry. Makes it hard to be read.

When we select "Use my chosen colors", as you say, the web page content 
underneath any submenu is visible right through the submenu, showing that
the submenu has become transparent. This is a bug; marking Confirmed -
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
