Specifically, if one replies with quoted text, one deletes text from the reply, and one puts his cursor right after the reply (i.e., the line right underneath it), then the text of the reply doesn't wrap unless you hit enter first to put some space between the reply and the quoated text. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure that under Preferences, Mail and NewsGroups, composition, the option is set for starting the reply before the quoted text. 2. Select a message with text. 3. Hit reply. 4. Delete some text from above and/or below the text you want in the reply. 5. Start composing text right underneath the quoted text. Actual Results: The reply text became the same color as the quoted text (in my system, blue). With a sufficiently long string, it will keep going to the right without wrapping. Expected Results: It should have wrapped the text. I find it confusing that the reply text should be blue, though I assume that I just haven't found the option to turn that off.
The wrapping of quoted text is discussed in-depth at the dupe; there are good reasons why this is not done, and good reasons to want it done. The blue coloration of the quote is a separate issue, see bug 152144. There is no option for it (yet). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 196033 ***
