User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507

When you go to the Amiga.com.pl website you will notice that the animated GIF
showing a moving hand distorts the content - it makes it move a little bit left
and right again!

This is really strane.

Tested browsers:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030514 Mozilla Firebird/0.6
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507

This bug does not appear in Netscape 7.0.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.amiga.com.pl/
2. Scroll down to see the "Features" box (but the hand from "Ankieta" box should
still be visible!)
3. Look at the content of the "Spotkania" and "Features" boxes!

Actual Results:
The content (images, text and the background image too) are being distorted as
the hand from the GIF jumps right to left and going back to correct display as
the hand from the GIF jumps from right to left...

Expected Results:
Do not allow the GIFs to do such weird things with the rest of the content...

It seems that this bug is more visible when you have a maximized browser window
(I checked this under 1152x864). In smaller windows sometimes only the
background image is affected...
Works for me in build 2003051708 on Mac OS X 10.2.6

I can see the hands animating, but not the text in between.
Works for me with same build (2003050714) on Win2k.
Strange, now this effect happens only when I select text on amiga.com.pl using
mouse. And I am still using the same browsers as when I was reporting the bug. :)

There must be probably some more complicated "environment" to see this bug the
way I reported it...

Weird. :)
WFM: Win2k/2003051708

But you do still see it right? Please whenever possible get a new build and try
a new profile. Let's get this resolved if the problem dissapears, shall we?
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030518

In this build I can only see what I said in comment #3.

Try selecting some content with mouse - click on Spotkania and start moving
mouse up and down... The distortions are visible.

But as I said, I no longer can reproduce the situation when the distortions were
"automatic"...
Marek, the background of that gif is NOT transparent (I checked it with two
apps), but contains a lighter version of the background, so it's only natural
that there happen things with the background.
Apart from that I see no distortion now, but I'm on Windows, so...
Making Summary more descriptive. See also bug 212858 and bug 220822.

I can't see the effect in the original report or comment 3 , of course
the gif may have changed.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
