User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030516 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030516 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 The URL loads a frameset which contains 8 frames and about 260 PNG images with about 1500 KB. When the page has finished loading, the canvas of Gecko applications (Thunderbird, Mozilla or Phoenix) doesn't refresh. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to URL 2. Wait until loading has finished Actual Results: When switching tabs (or doing anything which would require a refreh of the canvas), the browser window looks like in the attachment. This also affects other currently running Gecko applications like Firebird or Thunderbird. After closing the application which loaded the URL (ie. either Mozilla or Firebird) and minimizing and restoring the other Gecko application (Firebird or Thunderbird) looks okay again. Expected Results: The window of all the other running Gecko apps should refresh no matter what's displayed. This also happens with "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312".

WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030518 Using the GDI-Usage tool from a attachment to Bug 199443 leaking GDIs when table cell contains an image, and text is received in multiple packets I saw an increase of 138 handles, but thats not critical after start of browser. If however after having used the browser for some time and having lost a lot of GDI-resources, that sudden increase could be the cause of your problem. I´m here with a fast DSL-connection, so bug 199443 can´t be tested, will retry at home with ISDN.

- I'm on a fast network connection in the office. - The problem also exists, when I start browser and Thunderbird and the first URL I go to is the one mentioned in the bug report. - The images are not inside a table.

WFM Win98. rv 1.4b. Freezes my PC for ages while it renders the first time, but always seems to refresh the canvas OK.

ok, seeing bug now, same computer & programs. Had some tabs and windows in Firebird open, opened Mozillamail, then Mozilla, looked at this bug and its URL, and copied the URL to Firebird. All was well, as long as I didn´t switch to a mail window. After being in a mail window, all was screwed up, I couldn´t see which window belonged to which app. Don´t remember if in my first posting I tested using mail.

From Bug 197077 Page with PNG images corrupts window rendering / painting: ... Another strange thing is that if I have another mozilla based browser open -- say Phoenix -- as soon as I go to the URL with Mozilla, the Phoenix display is corrupted as well. ...

I don´t understand the meaning, only 3 lines of info in that bug: Bug 118904 Make focus properly deal with multiple geckos per toplevel win Remove hack for focus suppression to properly deal with multiple geckos in one top level window (that breaks the one to one assumed relationship between command dispatchers and top level windows).

WinXP Mozilla 1.4 RC3 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624) also broken. Another URL that demonstrates this problem: http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=568523 Possibly related to bug 203672 and bug 185274?

Yeah, this a dramatic bug... It force me to reboot... In fact, after several hours of web navigating (or opening big pics), mozilla stops to refresh (all goes like if crashed) and if you resize a bit tinier, the refresh goes on. After some minutes, wont refresh, you need to resize again... etc etc until the size of the window is 10*10pixels LOL. My available resources are +80% (out of 480MB) Operating system : W98 SE , 3ghz p4. The tips to open several paints works sometimes but thats still very annoying...
