If you send a message using seamonkey and you insert emoticons:
i.e. =), :) :(, etc.
They don't show up when you view the message in seamonkey.

Take the same message, send it from 4.5 or another mailer and the emoticons show up.
I don't get it...I just tried this and I got the little faces...yes, this may
be annoying to some, but you can turn off the pref and we probably will before
we ship. Am I missing something here?

I'm not talking about turning them off.

If i send myself a message using the 12/02 release build containing things like:
:) :( and =)

and then view the message in seamonkey as well, these characters are not
converted into emoticons.

If I send the same message but from 4.5 and then view the message in 5.0, they
do show up.

Rich, if you send yourself a msg in seamonkey, you see the emoticons?
Yeah, I am seeing most of them...wink isn't showing up for some reason...have
to look and see if the image file is in the right place or not.

I am running my development build since I can't download the release build
every day (bandwidth challenged)

Fixed this...buffer truncation problem.

NOTE: we only do emoticon detection for plain text messages...not MHTML
messages. This may explain some of what you are seeing.
