User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021207 Phoenix/0.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021207 Phoenix/0.5 I am stuck with the edition of Phoenix as detailed above because later builds just do not load on my PC. Something is loading because when I click the task manager, (ie CTRL+ALT+DEL), MozillaFirebird shows up, but nothing else happens. I keep downloading the nightlies in case one of them loads up properly, but the story is unfortunately the same each time. I suspect that the problem does lie with Firebird as opposed to Mozilla, because Mozilla loads without any problems. I am using WinMe Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: N/A Actual Results: N/A Expected Results: Firebird should have loaded properly so that I could use it. No error message shows so I have no idea what module(s) might be involved.

Alan, did you a) unzip the archive into a _new_ directory and b) start MozillaFirebird with option "-p" in order to create a new profile? => tweaking summary + severity since this is no blocker

Summary: Later builds than the one I am presently using do not load → Later builds than 2002-12-07 do not startup
No problems here with 20030526 build running under W2K. Alan, please act according to the instructions given by Erik and then report back.
Might be also this bug #205129-stuff? Alan, can you please have a look in your prefs.js file located in your pofile folder - if it's missing the following line, please add it while all instances of your browser should be closed: user_pref("browser.bookmarks.added_static_root", true); If you've got problems locating the above mentioned file please feel free to contact me via mail so I can provide you with the necessary steps to check this out.
Alan, please see the earlier comments. Unless you can update this after testing further with a new build and the workaround Erik mentioned, it will be marked RESOLVED INVALID.
Marking RESOLVED WORKSFORME (not INVALID!) Reporter, please reopen this bug if the advice given fails to resolve your problem.
