207234 - Firebird installers ate my Phoenix0.5 profile

I downloaded Firebird in order to test it.
I chose to add a new profile as it had not detected my previous one.
I don't know what my existing profile has become on both Phoenix, Mozilla and
Firebird, the latter 2 being unusabel from work because of our incompatible
corporate proxy (see #207230).


Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1.unpack firbird.zip in c:\program files\firebird
2.launch it
3.create a new profile
4. Re-launch Phoenix
Actual Results:  
5. my bookmarks, cookies and other preferences had disappeared.

Expected Results:  
It should have preserved my existng links/cookies and other preferences.

Mirko - if you create a new profile this automatically means you will start with
a (nearly) vanilla Mozilla Firebird, which means: default settings, default
bookmark, default themes etc. Unfortunately you lost me on your 3rd sentence so
I don't know which brwoser you already had on your box and from which browser
you epxected Moz. Firebird to take over the profile...

As the title says, my original profile was Phoenix 0.50's.

Sorry for missing this 0.5 statement in the summary - I only had a look on the
provided "steps to reproduce" and there nothing was mentioned about a previous
installation...

Now back to your problem: according to
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/release-notes.html#install creating a
new profile is absolutely necessary in order to avoid bugs (and this means reset
to the default settings / bookmarks and theme of Mozilla Firebird).

Please consider Mozilla Firebird to be in an early pre-1.0 phase and many things
changes even between nightly builds - so don't expect everything's working fine
if you re-use profiles from the last milestone!
So just keep a copy of your old bookmarks.html and move it to your new profile
and purge everything from your previous profile.
