(This bug imported from BugSplat, Netscape's internal bugsystem. It was known there as bug #378813 http://scopus.netscape.com/bugsplat/show_bug.cgi?id=378813 Imported into Bugzilla on 12/03/99 11:09) When replying to a message that has been forwarded, the header from the forwarded message does not show in the text. Steps to reproduce the problem: - Send a message from User1 to User2. - Receive the message in User2 and note the header of the message. - Forward this message from User2 to User3. - Receive the message in User3 and note the new header of the forwarded message and the original header of the original message. - Reply to the message from User3 back to User2. - Receive the message in User2 and not the new header of the replied message and the original header of the original message. This message does not contain the second header that was added from the forwarded message. ------- Additional Comments From hong Dec-03-1999 11:15 ------- RFEs will not be considered in 4.x. Moving to Bugzilla.

Unless I am not reading this correctly, I think this is the way it works in 5.0. - rhp

Win32 (2000-03-01-09 M15) I compare the replied message in 5.0 and Nova. Indeed, in Nova, this message does not contain the second header that was added from the forwarded message. If it should behave like Nova, then this bug can be marked fixed. However, the header in the replied message (Reply from user 2 to user3) contains the original header (from user 1 to user 2): Subject: Nova from user 1 fenella to user 2 qatest38 Date: Wed, 01 Mar 2000 17:33:33 -0800 From: fenella@netscape.com (Fenella Gor) To: qatest38@netscape.com 5.0 contains one line less: Subject: From user 1 fenella to user 2 qatest38 From: fenella@netscape.com (Fenella Gor) Date: Wed, 01 Mar 2000 17:33:33 -0800 The To: line is missing in 5.0. Is this the way it should look in 5.0? If it should be exactly like NOVA, I will open a new bug for the missing To: line in the header. Please advise.
A new bug to include the "To:" header for that last message is probably a good idea. - rhp
