The button Delete should be extended to a drop-down button, as Get Msgs is. Standard text should be DELETE, when message is marked as deleted it should be UNDELETE and in the drop-down menu there should always be the remaining options including PURGE. This bug is not minor, as restarting mail is certainly not an easy workaround. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Looks like a dupe of bug 75927. Lots of comments there about the particular need for this with IMAP.

This bug is not a dup, since bug 75927 bug was not touched by its owner for *two years*, which equals non-existence. I hope that with a new owner this standard and essential feature will find its way into mail/news. If this bug is not resolved the imap-option in the preferences to mark messages as deleted instead of moving them to the trash would be obsolete, as it does not make sense to have to restart mail everytime in order to use the option sensibly.
