User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030527 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030527 If Sidebar is opened and closed (F9), it reappears upon a refresh. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to a page. I used: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?changedin=1&chfield=%5BBug+creation%5D&chfieldto=Now&product=Browser&product=MailNews 2. Open and close the sidebar using F9 or the close button. 3. Refresh (F5 or Ctrl-R) or click on a link (bug ID), then Back. Actual Results: Sidebar opens again. Expected Results: Sidebar should not have changed state. Workaround: Close sidebar, exit Mozilla, reload Mozilla, go back to the triggering page, verify that it stays closed. Repeat steps if it doesn't.
Confirming. Can you correct the spelling mistake in the title?

Titel fixd!
Summary: Sidbar won't stay closed → Sidebar won't stay closed
Problem still exists in: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040608 I have narrowed down the cause. It appears to be a problem with the search tab in the sidebar. Steps to reproduce: 1. Perform a search on Google. 2. Open the sidebar and search tab so that the Google results are displayed. 3. Close the sidebar and navigate to one of the returned search links or use the sidebar to jump to one. 4. At the new page, close the sidebar. 5. Navigate <Back> to Google or enter the Google URL in the address bar. 6. The sidebar opens again. Workaround: Hide the search tab in the sidebar before closing.

MASS-CHANGE: This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but has been without a comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project. This means that it was logged against the old Mozilla suite and we cannot determine that it's still valid for the current SeaMonkey suite. Because of this, we are setting it to an UNCONFIRMED state. If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way. If you can confirm that the report doesn't apply to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it to the appropriate RESOLVED state (WORKSFORME, INVALID, WONTFIX, or similar). If no action happens within the next few months, we move this bug report to an EXPIRED state. Query tag for this change: mass-UNCONFIRM-20090614
