Has to do with opening sites in tabs, perhaps because I use the (3-button) mouse middle button. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open mozilla 2. Open more and more sites with clicks on the middle mouse button on links; opens them in tabs 3. Repeat until crash Actual Results: crash Expected Results: just work File->Preferences->Tabbed browsing settings (all notches are selected): [X] Hide the tab when only one tab is open [X] Load links in the background [X] Middle-click, control-click or control-enter on links in a web page [X] Control-enter in the location bar

Do you use extensions? Would you like to test Mozilla 1.4 ReleaseCandidate 1? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.4rc1/

Ok this is really something; I have had probably 100 crashes with Mozilla 1.3 alfa, beta, 1.4rc1 and now with 1.4rc2. And now I have an idea of what goes on. The themes 'NauiPolis 1.0' (which by the way is really nice) makes Mozilla crash. It happens only when using tabs, for instance I always get a crash when I open 1 or more tabs, no matter if I have other windows open or not (this is on win98). Sometimes the crash comes with the first tab, other times I can do a little surfing before it happens, but it really is consistant. I have also added this under the theme, see the comments under http://themes.mozdev.org/themes/nautipolis.html I have a whole range of crash talkback id; at least these are believered to be due to the above reason: TB21154638X TB21154089K TB21154059W By the way, you really should make a FAQ or something teaching how to report talkback id's, it's not obvious that you have to start talkback.exe to find the id's. At least on my machine, talkback is neither in the 'start->mozilla' menu. I have to remark I haven't been through readme's etc. Now, whoever owns the code for 'talkback' should integrate the talkback id list in there.

One thing that could be the cause is the removal of .mng support. Nautipolis 1.0 uses a .mng (chrome://global/skin/tab/loading.mng) as the animated icon for tabs being loaded. However, since a couple of days (weeks?) MNG support has been removed from Mozilla. Therefor a new version of NautiPolis is available: 1.4, where the .mng's are replaced by .gif's (unfortunelately). So, please test this problem with the latest NautiPolis theme available at the usual locations. Thanks in advance, Alfred
