Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4a; MultiZilla v1.4.0.1) Gecko/20030425 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4a; MultiZilla v1.4.0.1) Gecko/20030425 The navigation buttons are greyed out when you navigate through pages, its like there is no history being generated. The back and forward options on the right click menu are also greyed out. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a website 2. click on a link 3. try to go back, you can't because you have no history. Actual Results: You have no recorded history, its simply forgotten your past. Expected Results: In Mozilla 1.3, which I've backed out to, you can navigate fine, and the back navigation icon isn't greyed out.
does this happen on all pages?
When I installed it, I didn't notice it was doing it, until I wanted to go back a page and couldn't. I pulled down the bug report off the help menu, and the buttons remained greyed out, and got my password wrong when I tried to log in, but couldn't go back to fix it, simply because none of the navigation buttons would work. On an unrelated note: Ignore the UserAgent, I think its got itself stuck (I'm using Moz 1.3.1 from the download site)
did you uninstall the old Mozilla before installing the new? (you personal data is NOT gone then)
Yes, uninstalled Mozilla 1.3, then installed Mozilla 1.4rc1, then uninstalled when I found that posting the bug would be difficult, and installed Mozilla 1.3.1
ok now try to create a new profile..
Now that was a strange experience! I created a new profile, and it changes the UserAgent to 1.3.1 properly, so I thought I'd see if it was my profile that was causing 1.4rc1 to get upset, so I uninstalled 1.3.1 and installed 1.4rc1 I created a new profile called default141 for this, and upon opening Mozilla disappeared, even the quicklaunch disappeared. Mozilla would only work with the first profile. Looks like there might be another bug there! Upon removing 1.4rc1 and installing 1.3.1 it forgot there was a multizilla plugin installed so I exited and it seems to have stabilised itself now, although it looks different and still thinks its 1.4a on the default profile.
try to remove the /chrome folder (there are extensions and plugins) and the localstore.rdf file (there are window positions) from the broken profile...
Looks like removing prefs.js helped a lot, it was in that file rather than the localstore that was causing the problems. Navigation works ok in 1.4rc1 now Thanks
