I was just filling in a couple of bug reports and tried to highlite the URL of a
web site to paste into the URL field on the Bugzilla form and found that neither
Control-C nor right click>Copy will copy the URL.  On testing, I find that it is
copying the URL because I can paste it into  text file, but not into the bug
report form

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Highlight the URL
2.Control-C
3.Go somewhere in the bug form and Control-V
4.Nothing happens

Actual Results:  
Nothing

Expected Results:  
Should copy highlighted information to allow a paste into the bug form

does middleclick-paste work?  can you paste into other Mozilla text areas?
you might try 1.4RC1 and/or a clean profile.

Further testing.  Either Control-C or right-click>copy will copy the URL.  The
problem is pasting the information into a bug report form  It will paste OK into
a comment field but not into the field called URL, as in an example of a site
where the problem happens.  It appears to be a problem with the form, not
Mozilla itself.

I also have been experiencing this problem.  I have not been able to track it
down, but randomly FireFox will not allow me to copy URLs from the URL bar.  It
clears my clipboard, but there is nothing copied.

This constantly occurs for me.  I have found it on firefox at first then tested
it in mozilla and 3 or 4 times out of 10 the clip board is cleared when I copy
something out firefox/mozilla.  I am using Win2k sp4 with 4 monitors/displays. 
This occured on a clean install of mozilla since I suspected some of my firefox
extensions could have caused the issue however that was not he case.  Firefox
was not open when this issue was reproduced in mozilla.  This occurs on all web
page elements as well, not just the address bar.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to reproduce:

1.) Highlight the url in the address bar
2.) Right click on selected text and select "copy"
3.) Right click again and observe "paste" grayed/enabled status
4.) Repeat steps 1-3 until you notice that "paste" is grayed out when you have
just copied something. Try doing it quicker/slower in attempts to reproduce.

Actual Results: 
Text that is copied is not actually copied but clipboard is cleared.

Expected Results:
Text that is copied should be copied.(In reply to comment #0)

Replies #4 and #5 are a different problem.  In the origianl problem the URL was
copied correctly to the clipboard.  From there it could be pasted almost
anywhere EXCEPT the URL field in the Bigzilla bug report.  It's the form that's
the proble, not copy-paste.

Haven't had to report a bug in a looooong time (that's a good thing, Martha).  ;-)

I just tried it with FF 1.0.4 and the current bugzilla. It works OK now.  Like I
said above; this was a bugzilla problem, not a Mozilla/FF problem.  The current
version of Bugzilla accepts the Paste, so it appears to be OK now.

Replies #4&5 were a different problem and (if not corrected by now) should,
perhaps be shunted off to a different thread.

Nothing in Mozilla itself was broken or fixed.  No bug / patch referenced as the
fix.
