Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 If the Personal Toolbar was displayed the last time Mozilla was open, the next time it is opened, while the PT will display, the buttons on the PT will not -- you get a flat little toolbar about 10 pixels high with no buttons. Expanding and collapsing the PT has no effect; neither does turning the toolbar on and off in the view preferences. However, if you set the view preferences to hide the PT, quit Mozilla, reopen it again, and then set the preferences to show the PT, it works fine. (You have to remember to hide it again before quitting, though, or you'll have the same problem.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgraded from Mozilla 1.2 to Mozilla 1.4b. 2. Opened Mozilla, browsed happily (including links on personal toolbar) 3. Closed Mozilla. 4. Repeat for several days (this is the baffling part -- see "additional info"). 5. Reopened Mozilla. Actual Results: Buttons on personal toolbar missing. Expected Results: Buttons on personal toolbar not missing. I'm using the Modern theme, Mac OS X 10.2.5, on a 667MHz TiBook. For some time I've been using 1.4b happily without experiencing this problem, and I'm not sure why it suddenly started happening. The only thing I can think of is that until today I may not have restarted the box since installing 1.4b, and today may have been the first time using it after a full restart. I noticed a couple of other odd behavior changes (such as: when I first installed 1.4b, placing it in the dock created a generic application icon, not a Mozilla icon, but opening it the browser created a Mozilla icon in the "open documents" section of the dock; now, while the icon is still generic, opening the browser no longer creates a "document" icon separate from the application icon) today as well, so possibly when it =was= working I was still using some 1.2 libs that were unloaded or deleted on restart.
