User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425

When I try to view http://www.mozilla.org I get an empty page. Reloading the
page makes no difference.

When I copy the URL and paste it into Netscape 4.80 or IE 5.5, the page displays
fine. http://www.mozilla.org/start displays fine using this version of Mozilla
as well. This behavior reproduces every time.

This was after a fresh install of Mozilla 1.3.1 after downloading
mozilla-win32-1.3.1-installer-sea.exe from ftp.mozilla.org. The system that
displayed this behavior is a Dell Optiplex Pentium 200 running Windows 98 Second
Edition with most of the Microsoft recommended patches. Mozilla is NOT selected
as the default browser, Netscape 4.80 is configured as the default browser.

This same behavior was observed using the older Mozilla 1.3 version as well,
before this version was removed and replaced. I installed Mozilla 1.3.1 to see
if this basic browser problem had been fixed.

When I view source on this blank page, it shows me the following:

<html><body></body></html>

To make sure that this wasn't a Java applet problem, I also installed the Sun
Java 1.3.1 JRE as well. When I checked the Mozilla Plugins folder, I noticed
that the needed NPOJI610.dll wasa already installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type http://www.mozilla.org into the URL window and hit ENTER key
2. Browser responds with "Done" message in status bar.
3.

Actual Results:
Get a blank/empty page back.

Expected Results:
Displayed the proper page on the Mozilla web site.

This is an embarrasing error when the Mozilla browser doesn't even display the
opening web page at Mozilla.org properly.

Summary: http://www.mozilla.org displays empty page → http://www.mozilla.org displays empty page
WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425

I´m using a zip version, have trunk and 1.4RC1 installed.
Starting 1.3.1 mozilla.exe from windows explorer, after asking for making
default explorer, http://www.mozilla.org/start comes up, telling me I´ve got an
old vrsion of mozilla. To repeat this, I have to start another mozilla, i.e.
1.0.2, so the profile gets changed somehow.

Did you deinstall previous mozilla, including quickstart option?
Did mozilla try to connect to this startpage at the end of the installation
process, and was it possible, i.e. computer connected to the internet, or able
to be connected?
Are other websites displayed?
Can you retry creating a new profile, just for testing?
