User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 Build Identifier: In browser languages list (Preferences -> Navigator -> Languages -> Languages List) there is no "Persian [fa]". But if you type fa in (Add -> Others), it will add "Farsi [fa]" tu the list. Persian is other name of Farsi language, and these have same meaning. We use "faarsi" in Iran, but ISO uses Persian in standards. it's like German [de]. there is no Deutsch in list. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: go to Mozilla Menu -> Preferences -> Navigator -> Languages -> Add. type "fa" in Others field, and click OK. Actual Results: it will add "Farsi [fa]" to list. Expected Results: Please add [fa] to Add -> Languages list and also change "Farsi" to "Persian".
Depends on: 204767
It should be "Farsi [fa]" not Persian [fa]". In any case, I confirmed that this occurs in the latest build #2003060404. Internet Explorer 6 has "Farsi [fa]" listed as a language.
Based on bug 204767 comment 2 and the analogy of "German [de]", "French [fr]", etc, it's going to be "Persian [fa]" unless someone brings up a new and convincing argument in the other direction.
Fixed by the checkin to bug 178491, at least to the extent that the language name is now correct.
