User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 If I select a URL that is not actually a link but written on a webpage (e.g. on http://www.heise.de/newsticker/foren/go.shtml?read=1&msg_id=3557736&forum_id=43337 there is a "pure-text-link") there is no way to open this URL with just using the mouse. It were nice if the text selection component would recognize URIs/eMail-Addresses and so on automatically giving the opportunity to "Open link in new tab/window" or "Send email to..." when clicking the right mouse button while the mouse is pointing to the selected text. Dragging the selected text into the URL bar doesn´t have the desired effect. It just copies the text selection into the text field. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Mark a not-linked but syntactically correct URL that is written on a webpage or simple text document and viewed in mozilla. 2. A right-click onto the selection Actual Results: A menu appears giving the possibility to Copy/Paste/etc., "Web search for <selection>" and "View selection source". Expected Results: It should recognize URLs and email-addresses and give the opportunity to "Open link in new tab/windows" or "Send email to...". If I paste a URL into the empty URL bar, there is no way to access the given link without pressing ENTER. A small GO-button integrated into the URL bar would solve this issue.
There is a small GO-button integrated into the URL already. If you can't see it it is deactivated. To activate: 1. Open Edit > Preferences 2. Select the Navigator item in the list 3. Check the Go check box
Summary: Open selected URL without using the keyboard → Open selected URL without using the keyboard
