Do you use a firewall like Zonealarm ?
no blocker because this doesn block development (and this is something on your
system)
Severity: blocker → major
Summary: www.netscpape.de (or any other address) refused connection → www.netscpape.de (or any other address) refused connection
Try: http://www.mozilla.org:80/
If that does not work, we have a problem.

after deinstalling an old unused Version of Zonelab (because in the meantime i
installed Sygate), Mozilla can connect to the internet.
Thanks to the responders for the interest in my problem, especially to Matthias.
