Hi -
After upgrading to Mozilla 1.3.1, I was unable to collect email from a POP3
account I have. My Mozilla settings have been working fine with earlier versions
of Mozilla. Downgrading back to 1.3 fixes the problem.
Despite clicking on Get Msgs and Get Messages for Account, Mozilla just sits in
a loop, never requesting the password from me. Looking at a packet trace in
Ethereal, I see that Mozilla terminates the connection (TCP FIN) after sender
the USER command but before sending the PASS command.
Mozilla 1.3 requests my password when it starts the mail & news component and
uses it when it connects.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Establish a working POP3 profile using Mozilla 1.3 or earlier
2. Upgrade to 1.3.1
3. Fail to retrieve mail using POP3 profile
Actual Results:
Mozilla loops in the 'connecting' phase
Expected Results:
Asked for a password, sent to the the POP3 server, and retrieved mail.

Isn't WFM a bit harsh, seeing as POP mail is a major feature and 1.3.1 is the
current stable version? Or is the stable 1.4 due incredibly imminently?

1.4 final is due out "soon", the first RC was published a week ago.
