Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030603 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030603 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 On trying to shop online at two different sites (Target and Tech depot), I got a popup asking me to participate in a Netscape Communicator survey (I think it was a satisfaction survey). This crashed Phoenix. However, this problem is hard to reproduce as you're not always presented with the survey but the survey did appear at checkout and both times it crashed the browser. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to target.com 2. Buy an item (I bought the Koss earbuds w/ noise reduction) 3. Check out. Actual Results: A netscape communicator survey popped up and crashed all open windows of Firebird. Expected Results: Not crash. . .
Reneé: does the Talkback agent start? Can you provide a talkback ID? (Not going to order something to test this, I stopped at the credit card prompt!)
The talkback agent does start but I've never actually tried to complete the survey. I think I'd be able to though as the survey itself doesn't crash. I have both Mozilla and Firebird installed. . .I just realize that might be a problem. I uninstalled Mozilla. . .I'll see if that helps. Also, I got the bug again this morning just trying to sign on to the tech depot website. So now I'm assuming it only happens on shopping websites but not only when I'm about to check out?
It sounds like the "survey" was Talkback. Talkback's purpose is to report crashes, and as far as I know it doesn't cause crashes. You're not the first to be confused by the language in the first Talkback dialog... it refers to Netscape rather than Mozilla Firebird, and I think it doesn't even mention the word "crash". Does the crash occur right after you click a "Check out" or "Log in" button, while you're filling in the form (in which case it might be bug 184202), or at some other time? If you hit this crash again, please send in a talkback report, and then run talkback.exe in the components subdirectory to find the crash ID.
Seems like it doesn't happen anymore. . .been buying stuff since then and the browser hasn't crashed again, even thought it crashed like 3 times in one night. Probably something wrong w/ my machine that was fixed w/ a reboot or something.
