when you theme windows xp, the first panel of the downloads sidebar is the
default background color, while the second on is white

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Open the downloads sidebar (Ctrl+E)

Actual Results:  
two different colors in download sidebar

Expected Results:  
one color in download sidebar

in my opinion, the background of the sidebar should be the same as the default
background for pages.  since firebird does not (yet?) use the system background
color on web pages, i think that the download sidebar should be white also.

This seems to be a bug in the Windows XP theme.

I tried every color scheme that Windows 2000 has to offer and everything worked
fine. Please do the same and try all the available color schemes with a current
nightly build with a fresh profile and no additional themes and extensions.

If I don't hear from you in one week, I will mark this as WFM.

Okay, I've found a better way to reproduce this.  Display
Properties>Appearance>Advanced>Item = Window and Color1 = anything but white. 
it has nothing to do with custom themes on XP.  I haven't tested it yet on a
pre-XP version of Windows yet

Seems to be WinXP only. I can't repro this under W2K. 
Please go to the forums and tell some people to check for this and mention this
here.

This may be somewhat theme dependent.  David James and I found that the panes
were styled differently while working on Pinball.

Yeah, this bug sucks. It's very likely to be a skinning issue. And it's multi
platform too.

We should use -moz-Field rather than Window for the background colour of the
downloads manager sidebar. This does not seem to affect the background colour
of the downloads dialog itself (at least it doesn't in Pinball).

How do you mean it does not fix? It works on both Pinball and the default
theme, as the screenshot shows. I have had problems with this one in the past,
but it seems to be working now.
