User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; AskBar 2.11) Build Identifier: Mozzila Installer 1.3, 1.4, 1.4b I upgraded from windows 95 to windows 2000. When I did this, I was able to take advantage of NTFS so that I no longer had a need to partition disks (the file system supports larger drives). So I ended up eliminating disk F:. I wanted to reinstall Mozilla to disk E: rather than (the now nonexistant) disk F:. When I start the installer it wants to re-install to disk F: (I should note that I saw no need to uninstall mozilla since I was starting fresh, so I am not sure how it even knows about the old installation on disk F:, but it does (can I fix this?). Anyway, when I try to use "Browse" to change the "F:\Program Files\Mozilla" to "E:\Program Files\Mozilla", it hangs. I click the Browse button and the process hangs up, so the only way to exit is to click the "x" in the upper right, or go to the Task Manager and stop the process. For fun, I searched the registry and found several referances to "F:\Pr.. Fi..\ Mozilla", so I changed them all to "E:\...". I hoped that this would change the loaction that the installed wanted to use to E: so that I could avoid the "Browse" command. That did not work. So I am currently stuck and I can not re-install Mozilla properly. I don't know if anyone will have time to get back to me on this, but if that is possible, please let me know what I can do to fix this. Thank you in advance for any help that you may be able to offer. I know you are busy, so I will continue to fight with this on my own, and maybe I can figure out out to change the F to E. Best Regards, --Grace Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install on drive F: for example 2. Remove Drive F: 3. Run the installer (mozilla-win32-1.4b-installer for example) 4. Mozilla will try to install to drive F:, pick "browse" to change dest (windows 2000) Actual Results: the installer hangs, (Task manager says "not responding"). Expected Results: Ignore the fact that F: went away (I assume it is trying to access the missing F: drive when it hangs?). Allow the user to browse to change the destination.
I just treid to use MozillaUninstall.exe and guess what. It is also failing because it says it can't find an uninstall.log file on drive F:, so that is no help either. Back to the war.... Thanks.
I concur. I had a hard drive die on me, and my original installation of Mozilla was on that drive. When I try to reinstall, it keeps asking for the nonexistant path, and hangs when I try to change it.
