User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 On June 18 I downloaded, Version 1.3.1 of Mozilla. It has the Edit / preferences / advanced / disk cache value input box, but it is missing the memory cache input box setting. The help instructions indicate that there should be both present. This slows down the mozilla user gui as the software tries to use ALL the memory on the system as a cache. It is most notable with the older slower machines. PS GREAT BROWSER !! Well written instructions, too ! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Check drop down menu: Edit / preferences / advanced / memory cache value input 2.It is non existent. 3. Actual Results: GUI is slow as molasses, when compared to Netscape 4.75. I can reproduce this effect in Netscape by increasing the cache size to a very large value. Keep moving forward with this fine browser with great features.
The GUI for that setting was removed on purpose in bug 188956. You can turn the memory cache on/off in about:config by setting browser.cache.memory.enable

It's removed and Mozilla choose the memory setting now based on the systems memory. You can use "about:config" to change it. Use "browser.cache.memory.capacity" if you only want to change the current value but please avoid it to disable it.
