Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030313 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030313 Tried to set preferences to open Mozilla with mail/newsgroups only, not browser. It opens browser only, never mail/newsgroups. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Mozilla Profile Manager 2. Select any profile 3. Actual Results: Voila - only the browser window opens, even though Preferences is set to open only mail/news Expected Results: Open mail/news window, not browser window This is quite irritating. Mozilla is very slow on my machine and this leads to an extra 45-75 seconds each time I want to check my mail.

WFM in W32 20030612. Confirmed broken in gcc Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030509. Current gcc OS/2 nightlies were useless last I checked a week ago. Not tested in vacpp 1.4rc2. For OS/2, put this in your startup object(s) as a workaround: -mail -P profilename

This is cross platform. If you use the profile manager to start a profile, the fact that Mail is set to start as the default application is ignored. I recreated this on Windows 1.4.
OS: OS/2 → All
Hardware: PC → All
Summary: Preferences | Appearance | When Mozilla starts up,... opens browser window only no matter what I check → Preferences->Appearance (Mail) ignored when profile manager is used

I confirmed the problem under RedHat 7.3 and RedHat 9 but only using the contributed RPMs from mozilla ftp site. The standard binary distribution (.tar.gz) work fine.

The problem persist in mozilla 1.4.1 rpm's from Rawhide
Confirmed in Mozilla ms-windows 1.4 In my case, use several profiles, and automatically select the user profile with the -P command line option. Preferences/appearance/launch is configured to BOTH browser and email, and only the browser opens. Also very irritating, as Moz takes 1 or 2 minutes to load on my machine, loading the email module + telecharging the mail takes several minutes more. I used to simply invoke Moz and do something else for 5 minutes.
