Possibly because some pages uses javascript to get focus to the login form and that script loads after the tab is created? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to a url with forms 2. Quickly create a new tab and start writing new url sometimes it only appears when you open two or more in a row.. Actual Results: Entered text goes into form in previous tab, but the focus remains in the new tab Expected Results: Not loose focus on the new url

If the background tab is using focus(), then this is a dupe of bug 124750.

I've been encountering this too, and always on websites that use input.focus(). I'm going to mark this a dupe of bug 124750, but please reopen if anyone can find a counterexample. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 124750 ***
