wfm Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 I´ve got 18 folders in my PT, and 2 folders, a groupmark and 2 bookmarks in the overflow. When unhiding, I see two steps: a small empty PT, empty with only the chevrons at the right end and the grippy at the left. Then, a moment later, (Celeron 333) the height of the PT doubles while normal PT with folders is shown. Tested while writing this, with 11 tabs open.

Works for me (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021204)... also, your screenshots are linked to file that are on your local machine (file:///D:/junk/step0.jpg)... update the screenshots so we can see exactly what problem your having.
